Raffaela and Paolo and their three daughters immigrated to New Zealand in 1997 for a lifestyle change.
Both left behind their jobs and long hours as chartered accountants in Italy, where their roles also encompassed a law and business consultancy.
After moving to Auckland, they decided to transform their love of food into a business. Raffaela opened Al Dente, a cooking school and the “home of Italian food and culture” from her Torbay home. In addition to teaching cooking classes, she is also specialised in corporate functions, off-site meetings and team building events with a difference. She has been hosting New Zealand's leading companies for over 11 years and offer tailored packages to suit each group's unique needs.
Paolo is a business broker, specialised in medium size businesses, and he has already helped few new immigrants to find their new business in New Zealand. His hobby (and second business) is "charcuterie": you can taste his Otello's cured meat in the best restaurants in Auckland.
